To make a reservation contact the hotel directly either by email at info@amaliahotels.com, or by fax at 210-6072135, mentioning your days of arrival and departure and the room type you prefer.
Make sure to mention that the reservation is for the Stochastic Modeling Conference of the University of Athens, (the University of Athens designation is particularly important), in order to get the special rate.
We are told that there is limited availability and it is very important to make the reservation in time. The town is a very popular destination close to Athens, and it may be well booked already.
- Other Accommodation Options
The town of Nafplion is very historic, picturesque, not far from Athens, with important archaeological sites and beautiful beaches close by. As a result it is a popular tourist destination with a variety of accommodation options. You can easily find many hotels in Google and in popular travel search engines. However we do recommend the conference hotel, because of the convenience and also because it offers a very luxurious stay with high class service at rates comparable to other hotels in the area.
If you decide to stay outside, keep in mind that Amalia Hotel is located 1.5 km from the town center of Nafplio. There is some bus service, but the best option is a short taxi ride, especially at late hours.
Transportation
Nafplion is located about 130 km from downtown Athens and about 150 km from Athens El. Venizelos Airport. To get there, there are the following options.
- We will arrange a bus or shuttle trip from downtown Athens to Nafplio on Sunday June 6, at 4 p.m., as well as a return trip on Wednesday June 9, at 5 p.m. This is a first notice, in case you want to book flights at those days. More details to come soon. Keep in mind that to get from the airport to the downtown meeting point or vice versa you need about 1 hr by metro.
- You can take a regular bus from Athens to Nafplio and back on your own, if you arrive or leave at a different day. The bus leaves from Kifissos Bus Station in Athens.
- You can rent a car from the airport.
