We are pleased to announce that the next meeting of the EURO (The Association of European Operational Research Societies) Working Group on Stochastic Modeling will take place on June 23-25 2008 at Koc University in Istanbul. This Working Group is concerned with all aspects, both theoretical and practical, of mathematical modelling using stochastic models.

The main aim of the Working Group is to provide a platform for researchers working on the theory and/or applications of stochastic models and to stimulate exchange and cooperation between its members. More information on the Working Group can be found at http://www.math.vu.nl/euro/ . The areas of interest include but are not restricted to: performance analysis of telecommunication systems, the modelling of logistics and service systems, the theory of queueing and inventory models, revenue management, and so forth. The use of stochastic models is the binding factor.

The meeting is intended as a platform for exchanging ideas on various areas in stochastic modeling. Anyone interested in presenting their work, participating in the discussions, or more simply learning and/or consulting about the subject of stochastic modeling may join the group and attend its meetings. Research presentations of both theoretical contributions (concepts, method, etc.) and applied research are welcome. The deadline for submitting an abstract has been extended to April 25, 2008. On-line registration is now open.
